Owner & Founder
Alexander Wrenn founded Wrenn’s Auto Detailing in July of 2018. Wrenn’s started out as a simple mobile car wash service serving only a handful of Massapequa locals and has now grown into a full-service operation serving both auto & marine customers all over Nassau & Suffolk counties.
Alex is an IDA Certified Detailer (CD) with Skills Validated (SV) and Marine Certified (MC) Specialist. According to the IDA, the Certified Detailer (CD) designation “is a great achievement and demonstrates a basic mastery of the knowledge and applied skills needed by the detailing professional. The CD certification is tangible evidence of a detailer's technical knowledge.” In order to achieve the CD designation, the detailer must complete a series of knowledge-based exams in Equipment, Chemicals, Glass, Interior Detailing, Leather, Paint Correction & Protection, Wheels & Tires, Prep Wash/Wash Bay, Detailing Terminology, and Safety & Compliance.
The Skills Validated (SV) certification is the “higher-level second phase (Phase II), consisting of hands-on assessments.” The Skills Validated tests represent the four primary categories that each candidate must demonstrate their "hands on" ability to perform. The detailer must perform each phase of the testing on their own, and meet the minimum proficiency expected in order to pass. The exam is presented in a scenario-type format to afford the detailer the opportunity to demonstrate the abilities expected of the Advanced Detailing Professional.
The Marine Certified (MC) designation is a specialty certification of the IDA. According to the IDA, “those who achieve the status of IDA Certified Detailer – Marine Certified (CD, MC) have demonstrated expertise not only as an auto detailer, but also in the dedicated area of marine detailing. Marine Certified detailers have exhibited the specific knowledge needed to properly care for various vessels in multiple marine environments, and they understand the intricacies that distinguish marine detailing from other forms of detailing.”
